Still Anxious. Still Low.
Still Searching for Something That Actually Helps.

If you’ve been looking for an anxiety counselor or exploring therapy for depression, you already know that finding the right support matters. Not all approaches go deep enough. Many focus on stress management — breathing techniques, thought reframing, behavioural shifts. These can help at the moment. But for a lot of people, the anxiety returns. The depression lifts briefly and comes back. The stress keeps accumulating no matter how many tools they try.
That’s not a failure of willpower. It’s a sign that the emotional source of the problem hasn’t been reached yet. This consulting work goes there — into the patterns beneath the anxiety, the history underneath the low mood, the unconscious beliefs that keep generating stress even when circumstances improve.

What begins to change:

Understanding yourself isn’t just insight—it changes the way you live, relate, and experience yourself.
Anxiety no longer controls you.
You begin to understand what it has been trying to tell you.

Depression begins to lift as its emotional origins come into awareness and are worked through

Stress stops accumulating the same way because you’re no longer at war with your own inner world
You begin relating to yourself with compassion instead of self-criticism.
You move beyond surviving toward living more authentically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. This consulting work can take place alongside psychiatric care, but it is not a substitute for psychiatric treatment. If you are taking medication, any decisions about starting, changing, or stopping it should always be discussed with your psychiatrist or prescribing physician.

Even situational anxiety usually has a deeper layer. A current stressor activates something — a fear, a belief, an old emotional pattern — that was already there. This work helps you understand not just what triggered the anxiety, but why this situation affects you the way it does. That understanding changes how you respond to similar situations in the future.

CBT and similar approaches work at the level of thoughts and behaviours — identifying patterns and replacing them with healthier ones. That's genuinely useful for many people. Psychodynamic consulting works at a different level: it explores the emotional and relational origins of the depression, what it means, what it's connected to in your history. For people who've tried CBT and found the relief didn't last, this often offers what was missing.

Very much so. Numbness and emotional flatness are often the flip side of anxiety and depression — the mind's way of protecting itself from feelings that feel too much to hold. This work creates a space where that protective layer can be gently explored, and where what's underneath it can gradually become accessible. Many people find the numbness was carrying more than they realised.

Not necessarily. Our work begins with what is affecting you in your life today. We may explore earlier experiences when they help us understand the emotional patterns, relationships, or inner conflicts that continue to shape your present. The purpose is not to search the past for problems or to blame it for how you feel today. It is to understand how certain ways of relating, feeling, or protecting yourself developed—and why they may still be affecting you now. You decide what you are ready to explore, and nothing needs to be forced.

Honestly, it varies. Some people notice a shift in the first few sessions — a sense of clarity, or something lifting slightly. For others, the early sessions feel more like opening a door than walking through it. Depth-oriented consulting isn't designed for rapid symptom relief. It's designed for lasting change. Most people find that what shifts here stays shifted — because the root has been reached, not just the surface.

Yes — and this describes a lot of people who do this work. High-functioning anxiety and depression are real. You can be holding everything together outwardly while feeling persistently low, hollow, or driven by a low hum of fear you can't quite name. Consulting isn't only for crisis. It's for anyone who knows something isn't right and is ready to understand what that something is.

Yes. There may be a waiting period before a regular session time becomes available. The length of the wait varies depending on current availability and may sometimes be shorter or longer. When you reach out, I will let you know where things currently stand and when we may be able to begin.
After you send an inquiry, I will get back to you within 48 hours. We will then arrange a complimentary 45-minute online consultation, which is completely FREE. This first conversation gives me the opportunity to understand what you are currently experiencing, what has brought you to seek support, and what you hope might change. It also gives you the opportunity to get a sense of me and the way I work. Together, we will consider whether my approach feels like the right fit for your needs. If I believe another form of support or a different therapeutic approach may be more appropriate for you, I will be open about that and guide you accordingly. There is no charge and no obligation for this initial 45-minute consultation.
